Below is the microsturcture of H13, the tooling is about 200kg in weight, and it shapes like an open thin box.
To control the deformation of the tooling, we used free cooling in the vacum furnace (no pressure) for about 7 min on quenching,
and the temperature from 1030 down to 1000, then cooling fast.
and then we get the sturcture below.
my supervisor think the cooling rate is too low at the begining of quenching, so it formed much Grain Boundary Carbieds,
but i think it's not formed in the heat-treatment process, it's the materials fault, am i right?
1. Chinese English is O,K. as long as your idea is understood. Everybody starts from somewhere.
2. It's a bit of over-etched for the 500X photo. Try a lighter eteching. Also, try different etchants, say. FeCl3, or else.
3. I see few NEW (not so sure about this ) and many OLD (worm-like, inside grains) GBK films. You can see more samples of old and new gbk on my posts in my blog in Taiwan yahoo, searching with LeoMet.
